Emmiy Carr Term 2

This term we have been trying to paint trees like Emiy Carr first we tried blending and painting trees. The second one we had to get sponges and sponge some paint on and we used three different colours then we had to paint the tree on then wait overnight. The next day we put our name on it then we were done. Have you learned about Emiy before?

Rocket challenge🚀

 This year in Kereru we are doing a rocket challenge. We need to bring as much cardboard and bottles as we can. We need 1.5 lt bottles. We have got a pump to shoot the bottles. Last year Kereru made the rocket and one of the students' rockets went next door! The rocket challenge is a challenge you compete against other schools. First we have to get the bottles and the cardboard Mr Abbott our teacher is going to buy some hot glue guns for us. We need the hot glue guns to glue all the cardboard on. You get a little wet but it is fun have you ever did a rocket?

Me poster

 

This is my "me poster" we did it so others could learn more about us. Our teacher Mr Abbot doesn't like white so we had to colour the whole thing in even the background. My favourite bit to colour in was the cake so I did that first. I didn't really want to do the pencil so I done that last. Have you ever done something like this?

This is the wave that I have made the one at the bottom is the one that i made the one at the top is the original. I am proud of it because I think mine looks better the sky is red because it is about to rain. I done this art for the SLJ. I got the piture from the art coloring book. It looks like the boat is covered with water! 

This week my class has been making kites. 🪁First we had to make the base. 🪁Second we tied two pieces of string on to it.🪁 last we had to get some sticks and make them the right size that was the hardest bit.🪁 We haven't finished yet but I am about half finished. Have you ever made kites like this? 🪁They are so FUN!🪁

 

Junk 2 funk

This is my groups Junk 2 Funk project. We are making a super virus. We are using toilet rolls, a box, hot glue guns, tape and scissors.

The people in the group are Renny, Olivia, Sofia, Xanthe and me.

Junk 2 Funk is a competition were we use recycling and make things for it and the theme is contagious.

                                            It was really fun.

Somo paint flower

This is my Sumo paint flower. We made them for cybersmart it was fun. You need to go to Sumopaint.com/flash/ that is what you need to go to if you want to do sumo paint. I use the fill bucket tall for the colours. Have you ever done Sumo paint?

Waka art

 

This is my water colour art we had special pencils to colour a little bit of it on and then we had water and a brush to make it work but you need to be careful with the water otherwise you might make a hole in the paper. And in the little box we are going to put my mihi in it and it will go on the wall.

Bird nest

On thursday me and my friend olivia made a birds nest. my friend renny and sofia helped. First you nead to get mud and  a big rock to put the mud on and with the mud you nead to shape it and then you nead to get some leaves and put them on the botem and find some sticks and put them round the outside and find some flowers and put them round the outside then you are done.

Teslation

For art this term we are doing tessellations. How to do it. 

We have a little rectangle and you cut out shapes. then you get a big bit of paper and you stick it on the paper and then you take the paper off and put it beside it.Have you tried this?,.Would you like to have a go?

Calendar Art

 This is my Calendar Art. It is me falling into a portal. First we had to find a pencil and draw it then we had to get some pastels and colour it in. after a few days we stuck our picture on.

Melted Wax Art

 When we started our clowns we drew the clowns in our everyday book. When we finished we had to draw it on a big piece of white paper. Then we had to paint it with crayons. We painted it with crayons because we melted the crayons in an electric frypan in a muffin tin. It took a long time to finish the painting. The people that have finished drawing their pictures we were written on the white board then we would get to paint. The people that didn't finish they just kept drawing and then they got written on the board. We had to do long strokes and got 1 or 2 brushes for each colour. Then it was some other people's turns. After we had finished we would get a photo. It took us a week to finish.

I like my art because it has love heart eyes and it has like a sleepy hat on.

First we made the background then we did the writing. We took the picture and glued every thing on.  I really like the background because it is colourful.
