The School Production

 This year we have been learning the school production.  It is called Snow white and the waru and a half matific Monster. There are 4 scenes in the show and I am in two of the scenes. In the show, there are narrators, snow-white, Monsters, Mr Cowl
, prince, guards, Frog, wicked queen, Kind queen, huntsmen, mirror, Horse, fairy, Tree, rock and bird. Every class has a dance as well these are the songs for the dances Kereru-Am I wrong Piwakawaka-Hall of fame Tui-Shake it off Weka-Fame and Weka Teana has Happy but then we have three other songs one is KFC song one is Celibrason and the other one is Ugly Hert the dance group is dancing to Ugly Hert. There is a lot that goes on in the show

The big bike

 The other day we went out to our granddad's house for a bike. We biked from his house to my family's house. We went down the road and went into a track. Then when that track was about 1/4 away from finishing we went on a different track. It had a really big hill going up so i had to walk up it. after a we while we got to the end of the track so we crossed the road and went down the golf course. Then we went down the drive way and we were home. Then I got in the spa. Dad said the bike ride was about 15km! Have you been on a long bike ride before?

The beach

 The other day we went down to the beach for a walk. When we got there we had a little play. The next day we went back to the beach because it was really hot. We got in our and togs and went swimming in the water once we got cold we went and got our towels. When I was getting my towel I saw my friend Renny. Then I went back over to where we were sitting and we had some food. Then I went over and jumped off the little Bank. After a while we went back home and had a shower. 🏖

Day 1 Lock down

 In the morning my brother Nate went on his motorbike so I went in the garage and got out the go cart. I was driving it up and down the drive and around the lawn. After lunch Nate got in the go cart and jumped over the little bike jump. The first jump the go cart broke the jump then dad had to come and fix it then he tried a couple more times and it worked. Then a bit later we went to the beach with the motorbike and the go cart then we drove around there then we went down a little bit more and we sore a seal so we turned the go cart around and we got stuck in the sand so every one had to help come and push it out. Also when we walked up to it it hissed at us.  Have you ever been on a motorbike, go cart or sore a seal before?🏍🚙

The highest rocket

 The other day we had a test flight with one of our rockets. We have been learning about the physics of bottle rockets.  We put pressure into the bottle,  and then the pressure forces the water out making the rocket rise up.  We are learning about problem solving and we have a completition.

 It went SO high. One of the wings fell off when it was coming down because it hit the tree. Then we tried it again with only two wings but the top was not strong enough so it blew a big hole at the top! people are still making their's and I am too so hope we are done soon. Are you made a rocket before?

The best athletics!

 This year I am going to district athletics. I made it in for discus, high jump, shot put and 1000 meters. It will be on the 7th of April at the high school. I was really good with my sprints. I was right behind Elizabeth and Olivia. We hadn’t been practising it at school either. Have you ever been to districts before?

Cactus 🌵

 This year we have been doing Cactus. This is the first year Kaniere has been doing Cactus. Nearly every school in Hokitika does Cactus. This organisation helps us to get fitter and to learn important life skills. Our coaches are  Pita and Pascal. Every Wednesday and Friday we have cactus. Today we have been doing trust things. We had to be blindfolded and we had to have a partner. Our partner would help us put the blindfold on and then they would go over to Pita. Then Pita would show the others around where to guide us. I had to go to the playground and over and through the stage, it was very bumpy. My partner was Olivia Cuff I had to bring her through the dodgeball pit around the netball hoop around the tables and up and downhills. It was really fun! Do you do cactus?    

Rocket challenge🚀

 This year in Kereru we are doing a rocket challenge. We need to bring as much cardboard and bottles as we can. We need 1.5 lt bottles. We have got a pump to shoot the bottles. Last year Kereru made the rocket and one of the students' rockets went next door! The rocket challenge is a challenge you compete against other schools. First we have to get the bottles and the cardboard Mr Abbott our teacher is going to buy some hot glue guns for us. We need the hot glue guns to glue all the cardboard on. You get a little wet but it is fun have you ever did a rocket?

The very fun day of clued up kids

This year Kereru went to Clued up kids. Clued up kids is when all kinds of safety people go to the Boys Brigade Hall. There was the Fire brigade, the Police, there was a horse the horse was there so we know what to do if is a horse in front of us. There was a man teaching about motorbike safety and  about wearing your helmet all the time there was St Johns, there was Kiwi rail, there was things about the Alpine Fault and there was kitchen safety. My favourite one was the horse and I have another one and it was the fire brigade because they had a maze. Have you ever been to Clued up kids?

Camp

Last week the year 5's and 6's went to camp at Christchurch Woodend park. There was lots of fun stuff like a water slide, there was airo jump, and orienteering, and rock climbing there are LOTS of other things. On Thursday we had a big day out we went to the air force Museum and Orana park. It was so fun. Have you ever went camping with some of you school?

 

Gardening

Yesterday we done some gardening me, Xanthe, Louis, and Olivia had this job.  We had to pick all the weeds out of the plants, then we had to put all the same plants together. A few days ago me,Taylor,  Jack T and Olivia put some fertiliser on the plants. We put is on there to help the plants grow.It was fun.
