Day 1 Lock down

 In the morning my brother Nate went on his motorbike so I went in the garage and got out the go cart. I was driving it up and down the drive and around the lawn. After lunch Nate got in the go cart and jumped over the little bike jump. The first jump the go cart broke the jump then dad had to come and fix it then he tried a couple more times and it worked. Then a bit later we went to the beach with the motorbike and the go cart then we drove around there then we went down a little bit more and we sore a seal so we turned the go cart around and we got stuck in the sand so every one had to help come and push it out. Also when we walked up to it it hissed at us.  Have you ever been on a motorbike, go cart or sore a seal before?🏍🚙

 Today we made some animated gifs.  First we put the camera up on our Chromebook then we had to take a video of something that we are doing. Then we had to go onto unscreen and and download the video on to unscreen then we had to put a background on them. Have you ever been on unscreen or made an animated gif?   This application lets you do Greenscreen video work without an actual Green Screen.

Time Capsule

 Yesterday we thought we should make a time capsule. We are making letters to put in there. We are writing them to ourself.  We are going to keep it in the ground for about 50 years and then people might dig it up. If no one digs it up in 50 years or less it might never get dug up! We are doing it because we might forget what it was like in the past. It is really fun writing it. Have you ever found or made a time capsule?

        

The most amazing and wonderful Sausage Bowl ever made in the whole entire world.

 This week we have been weaving flax. On Friday we are having a sausage sizzle we had to make a Harakeke plate to put our sausage. What we had to is we had to get 12 pieces of flax and then put 5 down then we had to put 7 down and weave. Then we had to do some folding. we also had to tie some of it to try make it stay on. We did this because it is are culture and it is Maratriki.  Have you ever made anything out of Harakeke?

Emmiy Carr Term 2

This term we have been trying to paint trees like Emiy Carr first we tried blending and painting trees. The second one we had to get sponges and sponge some paint on and we used three different colours then we had to paint the tree on then wait overnight. The next day we put our name on it then we were done. Have you learned about Emiy before? 

Fake News Site

 This week we have been learning about fake news. What we have to do is make a poster about things that you could notice in fake news sites or fake news posters. We also had to make a fake animal and we are going to show it to the other classes to see if they can tell if it is real or fake. We were reading about the tree octopus and we all thought that it was real but it is fake. Have you heard of a tree octopus.?

The highest rocket

 The other day we had a test flight with one of our rockets. We have been learning about the physics of bottle rockets.  We put pressure into the bottle,  and then the pressure forces the water out making the rocket rise up.  We are learning about problem solving and we have a completition.

 It went SO high. One of the wings fell off when it was coming down because it hit the tree. Then we tried it again with only two wings but the top was not strong enough so it blew a big hole at the top! people are still making their's and I am too so hope we are done soon.
